  Justin Bieber mulai perlombaan-perlombaan menyanyi sejak umur 12 tahun. Ia mendapat juara ke-2 dalam perlombaan menyanyi lokal. Untuk memperlihatkan kemenangan ter
sebut kepada keluarganya yg lain, Ia mengupload video ke YouTube. Ternyata, banyak orang yg menyukainya. Akibat hal tersebut, seorang manejer yakni Scooter  Braun melihatnya dan tertarik untuk mengontraknya. Justin dan Ibunya kemudian pindah ke Atlanta, untuk bertemu dengan Usher. Ternyata, Justin Timberlake juga tertarik untuk mengontraknya. Namun, Ia lebih memilih Usher.
   Bulan Oktober 2008, Justin Bieber telah resmi menandatangani kontrak dengan Island Records, dan mulai mengerjakan album debutnya "My World". Album itu dirilis di Amerika Serikat pada 17 November. Beberapa lagu dalam album tersebut ialah : One Time, One Less Lonely Girl dan Love Me.
